PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES ON TRADITIONAL DINING....

I thought this was a Great Innovative, Playful and Creative way of thinking about interiors...

A New York Restaurant changes its Interiors every 30 days… This Innovative idea was a collaboration between Chef John Fraser, Emilie Baltz and Metrics design Group. The restaurant has a 9 month lease so they decided to do 9 different dining concepts; 9 interior changes and 9 menus to suit each new concept hence changing the idea of traditional dining. Each interior installation was done on a budget of less than €1000! The basic restaurant fit out was left the same (A black box). Different lighting and Installation elements were used to change the dynamic of the space each month creating a unique and playful restaurant experience.

INTERNATIONAL INSPIRATION - NEW YORK

Here at MKDC we are inspired by our own personal experiences including our travels to exciting places around the world. The textures, colours and vibrancy of any city or unique place resonates with us and helps build up our personal 'log' of patterns, products and new things we might like to explore in our future design work. I'm hoping to do a series of these little 'collages' for you, based on my recent travels, focussing on the places that inspired me (and that I think you will enjoy) the most!
